Visas
There are three entry points where you can obtain a visa on arrival: Friendship Bridge, Vientiane international airport and Luang Prabang airport. Chong Mek is a very useful crossing point for southern Laos but there is no visa facility available.

As UK citizens, we find visiting the Lao embassy in Bangkok and waiting for our visas is the most convenient.

The length of tourist visas - 15 or 30 days - appears to vary. See links below. Some people buy visas through third parties (travel agents/organisers).
